GiGi’s Playhouse Has Reopened!

Written by: Camille Manuncia, GiGi’s Communications Intern

After six long months of not being able to see our friends, we are so happy to announce that the Playhouse has reopened on September 11th! We are so excited to see all of our friends and finally be with them in a safe manner. We have missed you all so much!

Our Playhouse staff, board, and volunteers have worked tirelessly to create a safe environment for your awaited return. Following the CDC guidelines and the GiGi’s Playhouse National Standards for reopening, we have closely monitored the Playhouse to meet these regulations. Your health and safety are our priority. This includes cleaning and sanitizing standards, updated welcome sequence, visual markers to facilitate physical distancing, and more.

The Playhouse will be opened for limited hours and program scope. Watch this short video to know what’s new at the Playhouse.

We understand these are stressful times. We respect all decisions regarding your return to the Playhouse. That is why we are so pleased to announce we will still be offering GiGi’s At Home programming free for all participants. The fun and uplifting times will still continue at the comfort of your own home.

What to expect:

· Program offerings, hours and attendance will be limited at first.

· We are thrilled to announce that our first in person program will be the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program. We are partnering with Loyola University, Loyola Clinical Centers, to offer one-on-one speech therapy (virtually and in person at the Playhouse).

· Following the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program we will be offering 1-on-1 math and literacy tutoring and then will expand from there as regulations and safety allow.

· Please check out our ONLINE CALENDAR for specific program offerings. Be sure to check for each event “virtual” or “in-person” notation on the calendar.

· All participants must RSVP for all programs by clicking on the program in the ONLINE CALENDAR. No program drop-ins please.

· The Playhouse will look a bit different to accommodate social distancing with visual cues.

· All Playhouse staff, volunteers and visitors over age 2 must wear a face mask or buff.  Click HERE to download a social story to help your loved one prepare for wearing a mask.

More information can be found in our handbook. Click to download your own copy.

We are in this together!

We thank you for helping us provide and maintain a safe environment for all.  If you have any questions regarding our Playhouse re-opening, please call us at (410) 517-7474 or email us at annapolis@gigisplayhouse.org.

We can’t wait to see you!
