My family and I were watching what we could to cheer Elana on just because she was representing a great country. As we were learning who she is, she was becoming even more admirable fir being a mother and still working so hard. But now, I just learned she has a precious child with needs beyond special. She makes me feel proud of having my son with similar needs but most of all makes she makes me feel more proud of being a mom and still aim for dreams even if they are not Olympic size. We hope to meet Elana and her family someday to say thank you in person. Blessings to her and her family.
Love the talk with Elana. I agree with you when it comes to the difference not having a prenatal diagnosis allowing you to see your child first as a whole before you start trying to imagine what the diagnosis means. However, please keep your religious beliefs and anti-choice opinions to yourself. Women need to have the power to decide what they want for themselves and their families.
