Meet Our Volunteer Josie!

Josie LaPapa is a Sophomore at the University of Illinois, studying Speech Pathology and Disabilities Studies. Josie is our current book club leader and has volunteered with our book club since high school.  She lead book club from her dorm room last semester! This summer, Josie was able to lead book club during her work breaks and even from vacation!   As she enters a new school year, she will continue to lead from her college apartment.

Josie became involved with GiGi’s Playhouse Tinley Park in high school. She was paired with one of our participants in a buddy program at her high school and instantly wanted to be a volunteer. Not only does she lead our book club,  she has also helped around the Playhouse during breaks from school.  In addition to volunteering, Josie is a member of the Marching Illini band and is on the Dean’s list at her school.  Josie is a dedicated volunteer, and we are lucky to have her!
