Our recent events: Recaps and ways you can help

It’s been a busy past few weeks for GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati!

On Friday, February 11, we had our pre-build open house. This took place in a former FedEx location on Montgomery Road that’s now unused space. It was the perfect place for us to show off how GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati will look once it’s open. Nancy and THE GiGi were at the pre-build open house and got to meet a whole new crew of people that evening. The room was filled with parents of children with Down syndrome, special educators, early interventionists and many more people who are curious about what we’ll offer. A few representatives from Miami Valley Gaming also attended. Miami Valley Gaming has generously been running a rounding campaign to help raise funds for GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati for the past few months. One of the representatives enjoyed tossing a ball with a little girl with Down syndrome and was having so much fun that she didn’t want to leave!

Then, on Saturday, March 5, we had our second annual GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati Brew HaHa. This took place at Great Wolf Lodge in Mason. The event was packed with people and filled with engaging speakers, funny improv skits, heartwarming stories, delicious food and drinks, awesome raffles and silent auctions and much more. Miami Valley Gaming even joined us on stage to present a check for $20,000 to help us open our doors. In total, our Brew HaHa raised more than $65,000! We are so grateful. This will go a long way in bringing GiGi’s Playhouse to Cincinnati sooner rather than later. Thank you!

One common question we received from both of these amazing events was: “How can I help?” People can’t wait until GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati opens, and they want to do anything they can to help facilitate that. Here are a few things that anyone can do to help and get involved:

  • Create a fundraising page
  • Become a 321 Champion
  • Sign up to volunteer
  • Donate to our cause
  • Share and connect—Please share our story when you connect with new people. Countless people have a Down syndrome connection and want to help once they hear about mission.

If you have any more questions about how YOU can help, please email cincinnati@gigisplayhouse.org.

We are so excited for how well our last two events have gone, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds. Thank you for all you’re doing to help bring GiGi’s Playhouse to Cincinnati!
