Angela
Dear Friends of GiGi’s Playhouse
It is an honor to have been selected as the new Site Director for GiGi’s Playhouse!  I am so excited to be part of such an amazing organization and everything the Playhouse has to offer the community.  I am looking forward to meeting everyone and working side by side with such dedicated individuals.
Almost four years ago I left the North Syracuse Chamber of Commerce as their Executive Director.  I have spent the last 4 years enjoying retirement.  I always said unless something of real interest or value were to come to my attention, I would not be in the market for another position.  A dear friend and our Board Secretary, Terry Formica approached me about the Site Coordinator’s position and thought I could bring my skills and background to the Playhouse and that the Playhouse mission would be a great reason to bring me out of retirement.  I couldn’t say no!
Prior to working with the Chamber, I was with the Onondaga-Oswego County American Red Cross, as the Associate Volunteer Director and Youth Program Director.  During that time I was also the Board President of Administrator of Volunteer Services, a non-profit organization that brought all volunteer coordinators together to collaborate and work together within the community.  I was also a United Way board committee member.  Under my direction, our youth department worked with hundreds of college students who developed countless outreach programs and educated thousands of young people.
Volunteer and Program Development has been in my background for most of my career.  I worked with and held the Board President Position for Camp Fire USA and managed the Cicero Service Unit for Girl Scouts of CNY.  Organizing, planning and developing has always come easy for me and something I enjoy doing.  I am looking forward to using these skills to further the vision for GiGi’s Playhouse.
On a personal note, I have been married to my wonderful husband for 29 years.  We have one son, almost 27 years old.  Although I was born in Los Angeles, California, spent some of my childhood in Lebanon Pennsylvania and my high school years in Fairport New York, I lived in Syracuse now for 37 years.  My husband and I love to travel.  Our favorite vacation destination is Beaufort, South Carolina, where we have been very fortunate to spend both our spring and fall breaks.  Other than travel, I love the warm weather, gardening, reading, and spending time with my family.
I am looking forward to settling into my new position and all the wonderful possibilities it will bring!  ~ Angela
