GiGi’s Playhouse Syracuse 5k – Team Judah

Have you had the crazy good fortune of meeting Mr. Judah yet? If you answered no, you will want to get that on you ‘must do’ list asap!  We love this little guy and the way he has brought joy and clearer vision to his family. We asked his amazing mom a few questions about the upcoming GiGi’s Playhouse – Syracuse 5k, Fun Run/Walk and Dash for Down Syndrome.  We are so happy to have the entire Craver family filling the playhouse with joy, love and excitement!

Juda

-Which team are you representing and what is your relationship to the team?
We are the proud parents of Judah and Team #joysofjudah

-Is this or your team’s first time in the GiGi’s Playhouse 5K? What made you want to join?
This is our first time. Our son was just born on November 30, 2014. We have been to all the GiGi’s events that are age appropriate for us and have absolutely loved them all. GiGi’s Playhouse is Awesome

-Why is the GiGi’s Playhouse 5K important to you and your loved one, or what does it represent for you?
For us, GiGi’s represents a friend. When Judah was born we were thrown into a new world of unknowns. When we were apprehensive and nervous, our friends at GiGi’s had a calming effect showing us that all would be ok.

-Why do you think that GiGi’s Playhouse is important to the Syracuse community?
I think that GiGi’s mission is important and I think the way they present themselves is unintimidating. In a world of clinical and medical terms, GiGi’s equates themselves with play….something we can all accept wholeheartedly.

-What’s your teams fundraising goal and how are you achieving it?
I set a modest goal of $500.00 I know we’ll break it. So many people believe in our cause. So many loved ones (and strangers) have supported us that we will break it….but my personal goal is to see just how much my expectations are exceeded. I’m a sucker for that kind of feeling. I’ll be posting our fundraising page often to Facebook and Instagram and make sure all everyone knows what a celebration this is. We have come such a long way from that fearful day in November.

-Is your team planning anything unique to show your team spirit?                                                                                                   Shirts! Who doesn’t love a good shirt! I’m looking for something different than your standard t-shirt….maybe something vintage? Who knows?? I have time and Pinterest to help me with that one. All I know is , you’ll know who we all are…we’ll be the ones beaming with pride!!!!! Oh wait, I forget, that’s everyone involved in GiGi’s

-Is there anything else you want people to know about the playhouse or about Down syndrome awareness?
