Family and Volunteer Stories

It’s been an amazing experience watching the kids in the Playhouse grow up these past three years. Our favorite part of GiGi’s is the amazing kids that participate in the programs every week. – Noa and Ada

I love dancing and singing with the kids here at GiGi’s. I’ve done theater and dance my whole life… I am proud of being part of theater and being here at GiGi’s Playhouse. For GiGi’s Playhouse I am the nyc ambassador and got awarded. I am very gifted and honored to be the ambassador. – Safia

I love coming to GiGi’s and seeing all my friends. We dance, we read books, we eat snacks (pasta and pretzels are my favorite)! Thank you GiGi’s for everything. I love it! – Emmett

We have been interning at GiGi’s Playhouse for the past year. It has been a place we absolutely fell in love with. Meeting families and children with hearts of gold. These children are so full of life and joy. Learning from one another, teaching, supporting one another and performing activities together, we have grown so much love for them. – Graciela and Tatiana

I love GiGi’s Playhouse. I Dance, Paint and attend their Literacy group… The people I have met are awesome. – Peter

Aedan was one of the first participants in the Playhouse literacy program when it launched during the Playhouse’s first summer, and to this day he continues to join his friends every Thursday for literacy group… Please help us in raising awareness and funds for this important center — all of the programs at GiGi’s Playhouse are free, most of our staff are volunteers, but the Playhouse also needs financial support to continue to grow, reach out to more members, and build its programs as our children grow. – Aedan and family

Every Thursday when I rush off from work, it’s because I’m excited to get to Thursday literacy pod. Volunteering at Gigi’s is one of the best parts of my week. It’s a bright spot in a busy New York life. The programs that Gigi’s offers to an amazing bunch of kids and families (free of charge, no less) are incredible. I feel lucky to get to spend time every week with such a joyful and wonderful group of people, from kids to parents to volunteers to staff! – Emma

I started volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse nearly two years ago. I currently participate in the literacy program, and have found it to be a fulfilling and wonderful way to spend my Saturday afternoons. GiGi’s playhouse is a wonderful community, full of love, support and fun! – Martyna
