Friday Friends Hoedown!

Oh what a night!   Once a year we gather together for our Friday Friends Spring dance, this year’s theme was a Country Hoedown!  Invites went out early this year to our Friends at the Hoffman Estates Playhouse, as this has become tradition.

Everything was set, the Playhouse was sparkling clean, furniture moved out to make way for the dance floor, decorations hung, food prepared and DJ ready to go!  The party was to begin at 7p.m., but everyone was so excited that the Playhouse was packed by 6:45, cowboy hats and boots just kept coming!

After a few introductions to some first timer’s, hugs from those we haven’t seen in a year and a few Heehaws, it didn’t take long for the party to get started.  Dinner was served and quickly cleaned up, DJ Larry knew to pump up the volume!  Many country hits were played, but it didn’t stop anyone from requesting their favorites, YMCA, the Chicken dance and many more throughout the night!  It was a great blend of people and music.  Many from the Hoffman Playhouse said they can’t wait to come again next year, one parent even asked “why don’t we do this more often!’ There were smiling faces and laughter everywhere you looked, there’s just nothing like a room full of friends and fun.  We are grateful for our volunteers who helped make the night a huge success, special thanks to DJ Larry and his assistant Tim, great job keeping that music pumping all night!  We look forward to next year!  Until then, keep on dancing Friday Friends!
