T21 Run Supports Local Achievement Center for Families Living with Down Syndrome

GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta® Hosts T-21 Run, a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier

Next month, we will host our second T21 Run (5k, 10k, Tot Trot) in support of some 400 individuals with Trisomy 21 (T21) , also known as Down syndrome, who are served by the Atlanta achievement center. The run is in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day on 3/21, which recognizes individuals worldwide who are born with three copies of the 21st chromosome. Monies raised from the run will support programs at GiGis Playhouse Atlanta and our search to expand our facilities to better meet the needs of our friends from birth through young adulthood.

Events like this help us to continue to provide  educational, social and developmental programming that helps our kids learn to crawl and walk, attain school skills, get math and literacy tutoring, and have opportunities for social interaction such as summer camp, monthly boot camp, drama club, and teen nights —all at no cost to our families.

We would love to see you at the upcoming T21 Run and hope you will share the event with your friends and families. It is a great way to spread awareness.

Here are the Details:

WHAT: The T21 Run includes a 5k, 10k and Tot Trot at Piedmont Park, a kid fit fest hosted by Emory University Physical Therapy Graduate students, family-friendly activities, and more. The course is a qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race.

WHEN/WHERE: Saturday, March 19 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta (use Charles Allen entrance)

DATES/TIMES:

Friday, March 18 – Registration and packet pick-up opens between 1:00-7:00 p.m. at GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta, 549 Amsterdam Ave NE # 1, Atlanta, GA 30306

Saturday, March, 19

8:30 am Registration opens
9:30 am Registration closes
10:00 am 5K Run and 10K Run begins
11:15 am Tot Trot

REGISTRATION:

• Register online, register at the Playhouse on Friday 3/20 or onsite on race day – Team or individual registration includes bib and t-shirt: $35 for 5K, $40 for 1K, and a free Tot Trot.
• VIRTUAL RACE- Register as a VIRTUAL RUNNER and a bib and T-shirt will be mailed to the address provided before race day!
• Support the T21 Run with a donation.
